The fish body is cylindrical, flattened at the back. The snout is blunt, the mouth is wide and obliquely cleft, and the cheek muscles are well developed. The tail fin is fan-shaped. There are two parallel dark lines from the bottom of the eye to the corner of the mouth, and there are dozens of gray-brown spots on the cheek. There is a wide white stripe at the base of the pectoral fin, and the other fins are reddish brown with blue-white edges.
Breeding method
The Yaoshan goby is one of the more difficult goby species to raise. It is sensitive to waste and bacteria in the water and it is difficult to survive for a long time without careful care. The water for breeding must be clean, rich in dissolved oxygen, and the water must be changed frequently. It is recommended to be below 28℃ in summer and above 15℃ in winter to prevent water mold.
Living habits
The Yaoshan goby is a relatively docile and peaceful species with low aggression, but its own disease resistance is weak. It is not recommended to be mixed with other aquatic organisms. It is omnivorous and tends to be meaty. It can be fed with high-quality, fishy bottom-dwelling fish feed.
